Home > New Listing – Historic Spanish Home in Fairview Place

1614 North 16th Ave. | 3BRs & 2BAs | $530,000

Wow, so exciting to wake up and see a new listing in Historic Phoenix that gets us pumped!  This is a beautifully redone Spanish home in Fairview Place, built in 1926 and featuring just over 1700 sq. ft.  In short, the just-big-enough, just-modern-enough house that everyone is looking for.

Fairview Place is very close to lovely Encanto Park and is so-named for its proximity to the Arizona State Fairgrounds, which can be a positive or a negative based upon your point of view.  I, for one, am rather noise-sensitive, but think the new windows and all-around perfectness of this place make this a worthy candidate for those looking to buy in Historic Phoenix!

Walk into the living room with decorative fireplace, black-framed casement windows and french doors, and sculptural ceiling fixture.  We love the arched doorways leading to the dining area and kitchen.  We always marvel at how older homes always seem to get the layout right and wonder why modern homes can’t?

The kitchen is perfect with counter seating and totally charming arched cabinetry.  This doesn’t look original, but we can appreciate that the redo honored period-specific features like this!

Bedrooms and baths are also updated, but with vintage penny tile and a pedestal sink in the guest bath.  I know when you are scrolling through pictures, you keep waiting to see the one dealbreaker (at least that is how I am!), but this home made my cut all the way to the end.

Another great surprise about this house is the second, less-formal lounge-y space that sits across from the dining area.  Have a look at those windows, which provide light without sacrificing privacy.

Just off the dining area is a patio leading to a green yard with flowering bougainvillea, pavers, and twinkle lights. Does anyone remember life before twinkle lights??  This home rests on an oversized lot of almost 8000 sq. ft. with grass front and back.

We love this new listing and think it will sell right away in this market. If you want to see it today or check out some of the pre-renovation photos (which will amaze you), we are incredibly responsive to our clients and will respond right away.
